Echo(e)s is a visual poem taking place in two places at once in the same space (the cemetery), a puppet form for dancer and creatures imagined as a double-entry proposition, where two actions play out simultaneously, respond to each other, and where their entirety and complementarity are revealed only when the spectator has experienced these two “sides”.

Echo(e)s' residency periods will be divided between creative periods at the Charleville-Mézières cemetery (long residency at the cemetery and in the caretaker's house) and at the New York Marble Cemetery, in partnership with the MaMa theater in New York.

The Yōkaï Company celebrates its 10th anniversary!

Ten years ago, we left for Finland in a car full of feathers, threads, black sand, (and life-sized puppets that scared the hell out of customs!) to play the first date of Volatil(e)s at Nukketeatterijuhla TIP-Fest . It was the beginning of a great adventure, and the creation of the Yōkaï company...

VILLA ALBERTINE

The research program Réveil Invisible was selected as one of the 50 residency projects chosen for the Villa Albertine’s 2024 season. Three members of Compagnie Yôkaï will take part in a two-month research residency in May and June 2024 in New York and Los Angeles.
